Dear parents,
Hello!
My name is Jungin Park and I am very happy to have your child in my class this semester.
Last week, we had time to get to know each other by talking about what our hobbies are and what we did during summer vacation. We also went over what we like and know about Korea.
Our class consists of 6 students at various levels. The students are eager to help their classmates by being supportive and understanding other classmates’ Korean level.
The first level students learn about Korean alphabet (Hangul)’s vowels and consonants for the first time.
The second level students focus on understanding the meaning of words and sentences accurately and to expand their vocabulary.
The third level students learn a basic conversation in Korean.
Today's class was with Clara and Jesse.
Clara learned about ‘10 basic vowels’ of Hangul and expressions that ‘Introducing myself’. There is writing homework on page 14 of the textbook (맞춤한국어1).
Jesse has learned chapter 1 of textbook. We concentrated on understanding the meaning of vocabulary and sentences. There is vocabulary memorization homework on page 8,9 of the textbook (한국어2-1)
During today’s special activity time, we studied about ‘Chuseok’, a Korean Thanksgiving holiday. (This year Chuseok is from September 23 to September 26.) We watched videos about traditional foods, dances and events on Chuseok and learn the meaning of Chuseok.
Please note that on September 23rd and September 30th, I will be on vacation so a substituted teacher will be taking my place.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Have a great week! :)
Jungin
