Summary of Korean Class 2/24 and Homework
안녕하세요! 잘 지냈어요?
The weather hasn't been pretty lately - hope everyone stays warm and safe!
For those who couldn't make it to last class on Sunday, I'm attaching the study materials we went over.
We went over some of the Korean alphabets, and revisited some consonants that sound different when they are on the bottom as a second consonant. (받침in Korean) The consonants ㅅ, ㅈ, ㅊ, ㅎ becomes 'd', or 't' sound when they're in the 받침 position, ㅇ makes 'ng' sound & ㅍ sounds more like 'ㅂ', or 'b'.
We also practiced making proper sounds for double consonants, and hard consonants comparing with 'plain' consonants.
ㅅ v.s. ㅆ
ㄷ v.s. ㄸ .v.s ㅌ
ㅂ v.s. ㅃ .v.s. ㅍ
The double consonants ㅆ, ㄸ, ㅃ requires 'high pitch screaming' noise, and the hard sound ㅌ, ㅍ needs 'air burst' sound. We will definitely work on it again when needed :)
Also, we learned numbers (Sino Korean Numbers). We learned bigger units such as 100 (백), 1,000 (천), 10,000 (만).
I'm also attaching the tongue twister we practiced during the 'extra curricular' time as well. Here's the youtube video you can refer to that you might find useful. (Hope you have fun!)
Also, please find the attached to practice some big numbers!
The optional homework (if you want more challenges) for this week is to write about your daily life. It could include when time you wake up in the morning, that time you go to work/school, and what you usually have for lunch, etc. This will help with your writing skills.
Again, if you have any question & need extra help catching up with class, please let me know! I'm willing to help you out always.
Have a great week and I will see you on Sunday then.
안녕히 계세요!
Best regards,
유나
