Please see below for yesterday's lesson summary:
- Review on Korean syllables by writing and reading some English words in Korean
- Korean sentence structure:
1. The verb comes last in Korean sentences
2. Korean sentences have markers
3. The order of a question sentence and a statement is the same - raising a tone at the end is important when asking a question
- -예요/-이에요: used to express that the subject and predicate are the same thing (-예요 when the last syllable ends in a vowel & -이에요 when the last syllable ends in a consonant)
- Question word 뭐 (what): 뭐+예요 = 뭐예요? (What is...?)
- -은/-는 topic marker (-는 when the last syllable ends in a vowel & -은 when the last syllable ends in a consonant)
- Question word 어느 (which) ex. 어느 나라 사람이에요? (where are you from?) - New vocabulary: Names of countries & continents - Useful phrases: 안녕하세요, 안녕히 가세요. 안녕히 계세요. 잘 가. 잘 있어. 조심히 가세요. - Culture class about title - how to address other people depending on their ages and positions Hope this helps.
